Highland Park

 Highland Park originated in 1906 and is 2.2 miles of extraordinary living. It is one of the 40 wealthiest cities in the US and 19th in cities with a population over 1000. The city of Highland Park is literally surrounded the city of Dallas and University Park, just minutes to downtown. If you’re not familiar with the area, it’s easiest to find Highland Park by following Mockingbird Lane to Hillcrest. When you enter Highland Park it is unmistakeable. From exquisite historical homes to the Luxurious newly built estates, enormous trees, beautiful established parks that run parallel to Turtle Creek.

Prices for properties typically range from $1 million to just about any price you desire and the average size ranges between 2000 and 6000 square feet.

Lakewood

 Whenever you’re in Dallas, be sure to visit the eclectic Lakewood area. Lakewood was created in the early 1900’s and includes a collection of neighborhoods. Some of the neighborhoods include The gated Cloisters, Lakewood Heights, Junis Heights, Caruth Terrace, Wilshire Heights, Mockingbird Heights, Hillside and Hollywood Heights. The homes in lakewood vary from 2 bedroom bungalows to massive estates on acreage.

Lakewood residents are fortunate to be within walking distance to White Rock Lake. White Rock Lake is the largest lake within city limits in the U.S. Surrounded by a 9.33 mile trail and numerous parks used for everything from walking, running, biking, and picnicing. The neighborhood has a laid back feel, you can always count on there being avid walkers and runners throughout the neighborhood.

Vickery Place

 Happen to be in Dallas? Be sure to take a look at Vickery Place, created circa 1911. A historic neighborhood with a lively urban feel and just minutes from downtown. Vickery Place is off Henderson and Highway 75, a prime location for walking to shopping, restaurants and bars and is bike friendly.

For properties ranging from 1200 to 3800 square feet, expect to pay between $200,000 and $780,000. The neighborhood is getting a “facelift” almost daily. with delapidated homes being totally renovated or torn down for traditional and modern new bulids!

Vickery Place is served by an active homeowners association friendly neighbors and sidewalks. There is exciting news of a future plans for a “complete street” to make this thriving neighborhood even more bike and pedestrian friendly. Old Lake Highlands

 The neighborhood where my first transaction as a REALTOR® procured, is the same neighborhood I bought my first house, Old Lake Highlands, it is one of the best kept secrets in Dallas! It was established in 1946, is at some of the highest elevation in the city, and also has some of the best views of White Rock Lake. It can be found in between Northwest Highway, Buckner Blvd., and Lake Highlands Drive.

It has wonderful amenities all around it including Norbuck Park, Flag Pole Hill, and White Rock Lake! If you are looking for a starter home, enjoy feeling like you live outside of the busy city or just downsizing this could be the perfect neighborhood for you. It is located just 10 miles from downtown, driving to and from work you will have a peaceful serene feeling. It is surrounded by established trees, friendly neighbors, sidewalks and a true sense of community.
